Stages for reopening

Please see this PDF to review the stages of reopening the library will be following.

Statement from Carol

Friday May 1 2020
Pertaining to COVID-19 and re-opening stages:
Governor Kelly outlined a safe and phased re-opening for libraries in her speech last evening. The plan we put out on the library’s social media and displayed on the library’s doors complies with the Governor’s safety recommendations.
We are exploring uncharted territory, so it will be necessary to retool re-opening strategies as updated information about the virus becomes available from the medical profession. Hence, you see the staged re-opening, wherein services are gradually rolled out over time. Unfortunately, we cannot yet apply specific dates to these stages. Public and staff safety are our number one priority.

Curbside Plan

We are so excited to start PHASE 3 beginning Monday June 1, 2020!  Even though we will not be able to open the building to the public yet (so bummed!) we are keeping safety as our top priority!  Thank you for being understanding!

Quick Info:

  • Even though our building is closed our website is always open at www.eudorapubliclibrary.org
  • Holds cannot be picked up for other people unless they are a minor
  • Our book drop in the parking lot is open.  This is the only way we will accept returns.
  • Returned materials will be quarantined for 72 hours
  • We will not offer printing, computer, or copy services during this phase.
  • Kits and American Girl dolls are unavailable for holds during this phase.
  • No donations will be accepted

Parking lot and walk up holds pick up

  1. If you have holds waiting for you from before our closure, or Eudora items on hold to pick up, you can do that Monday-Friday 10am-4pm beginning June 1st.  We will not be offering curbside services outside of these times.  Please see our second document about the steps you can take for pick up.  If curbside is not an option for you, please call the library at 785-542-2496 during curbside hours.
  2. Please wait for a confirmation email, text, or phone call that your item is ready for pick up.
  3. Please try to limit your holds to 10 items per person OR 15 items per family so we can stay on top of assisting you.

Hopefully soon…
